Basic Matte has a long history, from its original maths support offering to today’s online practice. This page brings together our earlier branding and website work with the more recent development of the service.
Historical work from 2016 and further development in 2026 · Existing project description updated 5 October 2026.
The history and earlier work
The original was created by Sverre H. Bautz. In 2016, Færder Marketing worked on Basic Matte’s brand, websites and marketing. The delivery included a logo, design manual, website and digital marketing plans.
The screenshots below show the earlier website solution. They are retained as project history.
Basic Matte today
The newer service connects explanations and maths practice with entry points for different school years and subjects. Work has included routes from public guides to relevant exercises, navigation and the ability to continue where the learner left off.
Development concerns both content and how learners progress through the exercises. An article explaining a topic should lead to the relevant practice and make that connection clear.
Transparency about ownership
Today’s Basic Matte is operated by K28 Invest AS and is Kjetil Fagereng’s own venture. It is therefore presented as own product development.
