Custom system development

From a specific task to code, data and integrations that can be developed further.

Start with the need

Build what you need. Keep improving it.

When standard tools do not fit the way you work, a custom solution may be appropriate. We map users, test workflows and develop a focused first version. This might be a customer portal, an internal tool or a digital service. Code, data models, access control and integrations are considered alongside cost and responsibility for ongoing operation.

We agree on goals, scope and responsibilities before getting started.

From requirements to practical use

Test the idea. Build on what works.

Prototyping, development and operation each have a different purpose. Open the steps to see what we establish along the way.

  1. 01

    Define the task

Who will use the solution, and what should become easier? We map existing tools, data and workflows before deciding what to build.

  2. 02

    Test the idea

A prototype lets users try the workflow. Lovable may be used here. What we learn informs the requirements for the next version.

  3. 03

    Develop the solution

We build interfaces, data structures and connections around the requirements. Code is version-controlled, access is tested and the chosen solution must be maintainable.

  4. 04

    Support it in use

We agree responsibility for launch, backups, operation and further development. Actual use determines what to improve next.

KPIs tied to your goal

What needs to improve?
How we follow up.

Together, we choose a small set of measures. Each report should clarify what has changed, where progress has stalled and what to do next.

01

Control over follow-up

Response time, responsibility and progress

We measure the time from receiving an enquiry to the first personal reply, the proportion with an assigned owner and how long cases remain at each stage.

What this helps us decide

Where does progress stall, and who is responsible for addressing it?

02

Profitable customer relationships

Sales conversion, margin and customer value over time

We follow agreed groups of enquiries through to sales. Where the data supports it, we assess customer value using margin, repeat purchases and the cost of follow-up.

What this helps us decide

Which customers and services offer room for better margins?

Before starting, we agree on the baseline, data source, definition and measurement period. We compare like with like and account for seasonality, budgets and changes in tracking.

Questions and answers

Before we begin.

A few questions we often work through together.

Do you use Lovable for finished systems?

I mainly use Lovable for prototypes and testing. Before taking a solution further, we assess code, data, security, integrations and operation against the business requirements. The prototype does not determine which platform the finished solution will use.

Which technologies do you use?

We choose according to the requirements. Astro or React may be used for the interface, GitHub for code and version control, and Supabase or PostgreSQL for data. Integrations, access and ongoing maintenance are part of the assessment.

Can we start with a small delivery?

Yes. We choose a task that makes a useful first version, test it with users and prioritise further work based on what we learn.
